Ok so I got my comics for the first three weeks of August. Now you heard me bitch about the whole Civil War thing, and the first book I read was Civil War: Front Line #5 I think this is the first issue where the series started to show it's cracks a little. It wasn't nearly as good as the last four issues, but it still makes you feel very gloomy like the Marvel universe is truly going through a war. Next up was Wolverine Origins #5 and this book continues to kick all sorts of ass. The ending to the first arc was a doozy and I can't wait to see what happens with Wolvie and his son. Moon Knight #4 continues Moon Knight's title as best new comic of the year. Ghost Rider #2 was excellent as well. It's about time Ghost Rider "feels" right. Ultimate Spider-Man #98 was Ultimate Spider-Man back on top of it's game. It seems like EVERYTHING was leading up to this story arc. I think sometime very soon I am going to go back and re-read the first trade as it seems like events out of those very first issues are leading up to issue #100. Ultimate Spider-Man annual #2(2006) makes it two for two with USM annuals. A huge moment happens at the end of this issue. I don't see how you could be reading USM without having read this, lots of big stuff happened. The Punisher #36 was the ending to the Barricuda arc, and wow....this might have been the best Punisher story..maybe ever. If you are even remotely a Punisher fan collect this trade when it comes out, it was brilliant. Dracula Vs. King Arthur #4 finally arrives and finally finishes out this little indie comic that could. Congrats to the guys at Silent Devil they made a hell of a comic.
