118-Manhunt 2 For Wii....or Mark My Words

So Rockstar Games announced Manhunt 2 this week, and while that was pretty surprising it wasn't the most surprising part of the announcement. Nope, the most shocking part was that it was going to be for Nintendo's motion controlled Wii. Now like most people I went through a few stages of thought while I pondered over Manhunt 2 for the Wii. First there was "wow that's odd an M rated game on the Wii". Then there was "HOLY SHIT!! YOU CAN USE THE WIIMOTE TO MURDER PEOPLE!!!". Then finally...."oh shit here comes the media". Joystiq pretty much sums everything up in this article.

For those of you never played the original Manhunt, it was basically a stealth game(like Metal Gear Solid), that had you sneaking around a giant GTA like city, because you were being hunted by murderers. Then you would sneak up behind them and graphically murder them before they could explicitly murder you.

So mark my words...this will be THE MOST CONTROVERSIAL GAME EVER. Forget Grand Theft Auto, forget Bully, forget that game for Sega CD where you spied on girls getting undressed, forget everything. Prepare for lots of articles that contain the words Murder Simulator, Jack Thompson, and Pulled From the Shelves.

I really have to hand it to the guys at Rockstar though they must seriously get off on pissing people off. I can just imagine the meeting they had after the Wii was announced. "Hey John, I bet you could use the Wiimote as a murder weapon!" "Yeah that would piss everyone off!"

Personally I love it, I wish more people were pushing boundaries as hard as these guys are. Even if I don't like a single one of their games.
