Alright, so for reals I want to see Transformers...like tonight. The good news is that you get 2 chances to see it tonight. Once at 8pm and once at Midnight. This whole 8pm screening on the night before a movie comes out has been happening a bunch lately with summer blockbusters. I think Pirates 3 just did it, I don't really know why they do it. I guess to boost the initial grosses just a little bit.
I have been waiting to see this movie for a long long time now. Ever since Dreamwave comics kick started the whole Transformers resurgence in 2002 with their Generation One comics. The rumors bubbled that Dreamwave helped broker a deal for a new movie. I was very excited and finally a year later it was announced that for sure they were making a movie. I waited with nervous anticipation to hear any news about the movie, cause I love me some Transformers, and Transformers: The Movie(the 1986 animated one) is near and dear to my heart. I can still remember my Dad taking me to see it in the theater. The announcements started to come out(Michael Bay is the director and so on), but it was last year that they released that first teaser trailer and it blew me the fuck away. The trailer is real smart and I felt confident that they would do good with the movie.
Every trailer, toy, website, and all the things I have seen out of this movie is making me geek out super hard. I am trying to stay away from reviews, but so far at just glances it seems like it's getting real good ones. Ebert gave it 3 stars, and he HATES EVERYTHING.
So if you get to see it tonight or tomorrow afternoon, I am insanely jealous of you, but I only have to wait one more day and I can finally see the movie I have been anticipating for five years.
