169-Transformers Was Amazing!

So after what felt like a Michael Bay car chase, we made it to the AMC River East 21 with only minutes to spare. After paying the $8 matinee price(I remember when a matinee was $3.50, and I'm sure my parents remember when it was like fifty cents) finding seats in the crowded theater, and grabbing some popcorn I got comfortable took a deep breath and let all expectation wash out of me. I knew that even after all the years of waiting for the Transformers movie there was a chance I could be disappointed .

The trailers played one by one(the cloverfield trailer was pretty bad ass) and then the movie began. The movie opens at top speed, with a Decepticon laying waste to a military base in Qatar in the Middle East. From there we ease into some of the human characters and their lives like how Sam finds Bumblebee, and meets Mikahla. After we get all the humans figured out, it's a non stop roller coaster ride. Transformers battling each other in some of the most amazing sequences I have ever seen in a movie. This movie does not fuck around. People die, shit blows up, and it's all pretty realistic. Unlike say Die Hard 4, where people get hit by cars and don't even get hurt, in this movie if someone escapes you can see their clear escape route. If they don't escape....they die.

Transformers really has to be seen to be believed, It's two and a half hours of robots beating the crap out of each other, and you wont believe how funny some of it is. There is some great drama in there(which will probably be expanded on DVD) even though I will somewhat agree with the reviews that say the human characters are under developed. The reason I don't completely agree is because I paid 8 bucks to see Transformers not Human Beings. I cared about seeing big fucking robots transform into things and beat the living shit out of each other, and those scenes are incredible.

So you owe it yourself to see Transformers, I mean it's pretty much the only movie you have to see this Summer. After that....go read some books or something.
