I had to take a week off to get my head straight. The bad news is that my head still isn't straight, but I love writing in this thing so I have pulled myself back in front of the computer. I could have posted about the bad week I had, but I didn't think that would be very fun.
Let's recap. I played Star Wars Minis and I enjoyed it very much. I almost picked up a booster the other day, but the rest of my gaming friends aren't sold on it yet. I think it's probably the most accurate Star Wars gaming experience I have had since Decipher's Star Wars TCG. It's complex without weighing the game down, and fast paced enough to be enjoyed by even curious Star Wars fans who don't game.
Marathon hit Xbox Live Arcade on Wednesday and I immediately downloaded it, and immediately got motion sickness. I went online to find many other people suffering from dizziness and nausea. The quick solution from Freeware was to turn on head bob. I did that and felt better, but when I went to play the game on my HD set I got sick again. Oh well I'll stick to playing it on my SD set. I played the game around the time it first came out, and didn't get very far, but I really don't remember it being this hard. I am not very far in the game at all as of today, and I have owned the game for a week. Like I said however I had a bad week and didn't get much gaming done. I will try and get through more of it tonight.
Microsoft has dropped the price of the Xbox 360 effective today. The core is 20 bucks cheaper, the premium is 50 bucks less, and you can pick up an Elite for 30 dollars less. So that means $279 for a core, $349 for a premium, and $449 for an Elite. Also of note is that the Halo 3 Xbox 360 will be $399. So if you don't yet own a 360 well....what are you waiting for?
Also in big news was that Grand Theft Auto 4 is pushed back to Spring '08. Not a huge surprise if you have been following the development of the game, it's also been predicted for a while since every week between the end of August and the end of the year a huge title drops in stores. So putting GTA 4 in Spring '08 is better for the game cause in the dead of spring it can shine all out on it's own. I'm not a big fan of GTA, but it was a pretty big announcement for gaming. If you are a GTA fan I think it's for the best the game got pushed back.
Apple announced new iMacs today. They are f'n sweet, and with the power chord on my G4 iBook about to kick the bucket, maybe it's time to pick up an iMac and a MacBook. Even the MacMini is new and improved. A Core 2 Duo and a gig of RAM for under 600 bucks. If you are looking for an entry level Mac maybe your wish has been granted.
Alright well that's all I got on my day back. Maybe if Marathon pisses me off enough tonight I'll come back and tell you about the horrible fucking storms we had today.
