The First Annual Jim Film Festival

Last night I had a small group of peeps over to watch some movies. I have always wanted to have a little film fest. Last night I think I picked a perfect 3 movies. First was Donnie Darko: The Director's Cut, which I have watched about five times, and most people have seen it, but not the director's cut. So it was a great starter movie. It allowed people to come in, and it allowed me to make some food and not care that I missed anything.

Now the coolest part of the night for me was that I "rented" the next two movies from Xbox Marketplace. We rented 300 in HD and Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theaters. I highly recommend doing this if you have a 360. It's perfect. You have ntohing to rewind, nothing to return. It's just right there on your 360.

I had never seen 300 before and everyone seems to either have seen it and love it or haven't seen it and want to see it. So I made that the feature presentation. I was away from the TV for a little while during this one. I just couldn't really quite figure out what was going on. It seemed like they were fighting, and that was the movie. Just a bunch of bad ass battle sequences. I might have to give it another viewing.

Now once everyone was kind of tired and silly it was time to turn on the Aqua Teen movie. I had been told that it had no plot, and was really bad. I whole heartedly disagree I thought it was really funny and everything an Aqua Teen movie should be. There was a plot there, but like the usual episodes it goes off on tangents, and when you have an hour and twenty to work with you have more time to go off on tangents. The great part was that those tangents were actually funny. I don't know if your an Aqua Teen fan I'm sure you have already seen it. I don't know what took me so long. I guess I needed a movie night to have an excuse to watch movies.
