So the big news today(I have already seen it on Joystiq, and heard it on Howard Stern this morning) is that Merriam-Webster's word of the year is w00t. That's right double u zero zero tee. The expression typed out in video games when you accomplish something, has been slowly creeping into people's vocabularies, and now it's word of the year.
The fun part of this is listening to adults try to explain what it is. Hearing Robin Quivers try to pronounce L337 speak this morning was pretty damn funny. In further proof that it is ingrained into society is that Firefox's spell checker didn't think w00t was spelled wrong. So there you go, you can tell your parents you were using the word of the year all year long. Be proud nerds.
