Well I sent 2007 off with a video game bang this weekend. I not only defeated Mass Effect, but I took down Call of Duty 4 as well. I have to say COD 4 may have given BioShock a run for it's GOTY money. I guess if it wasn't a straight military shooter I would have called it game of the year, but BioShock just did so much so well I have to still give it to BioShock.
Well I plowed through Mass Effect, skipping side quests and going straight for the story. The story was amazing and Bioware has definately gotten the digital actor thing down. I will gladly play two more of these games, and I will probably play through Mass Effect again during these next few months when no games really come out. I think two more play throughs might be in order. Once as a renegade, and once trying to do as much as I can.
I sat down on Sunday with Call of Duty 4 around ten in the morning, and didn't stop until I beat it about ten hours later. What an unbelievable game, the story and the way it's presented it's better than any war movie I have ever seen. It was a little hard for me in spots, but part of me really wants to play it again on Veteran. The game is so good I just want to experience it all over again.
I still have The Orange Box to get through however. I am only about a quarter of the way through Half Life 2, then I still have to play Episodes 1 and 2, not to mention Portal. So lots of gaming left for me to do. I think I should go get a jump on it right now.
