Waiting for my water to boil and then cool back down so I can make some tea. I spent a good deal of yesterday obsessing over HeroClix, but that's jumping ahead of myself. I was only supposed to go to two places yesterday. Best Buy and Borders..I wanted to pick up the new Cursive album, which is fucking awesome, and the new Penny Arcade book, which is funny as hell. A lot better than the first book. They are both really really funny though, and you should check them out. Well I ended up going some places for Jennifer's mom as well. I had to go to both the Rockford library and the Belvidere library. Then to a mom and pop grocers we have here called Pacemakers. I guess it's the only place that has the seasoning blend for her "world famous" cucumber salsa. Which isn't world famous, but is really fucking good.
Jennifer and I were then supposed to go out for dinner and to the comic book store so I could pick up the HeroClix X-Men Danger Room Starter Set. If you currently play HeroClix and think you don't need the new Starter Set, don't kid yourself. It's an amazing box set at an amazing price. The giant friggin map alone makes it worth it. The figures it comes with are really basic, like you MIGHT use them, but never in a tournament setting. I used Colussus in a game last night and he didn't do much, but get KO'd. Speaking of Tournaments I am supposed to be playing in an intresting one today. You bring a 300 point team, then you buy a booster and you add 2 figures from the booster. Then after 30 minutes you bring in the other 2 figures. Sounds cool, and a neat way to get more clix.
I have been drooling over the cards they keep revealing from the World of Warcraft TCG, I almost ALMOST put in a pre-order for a box of starter decks. Which at under 60 bucks might be the biggest bargain in gaming right now. A box of starters gets you 6 pre-constructed decks centered around one of the 9 classes and even if you get doubles of one of those BAM! combine to make a tourney legal 60 card deck. Then in every deck you get 2 booster packs, and then as I showed you a couple months ago, the boxes each turn into deck boxes that hold 2 60 card decks. Awesome.
I bought some packs of Coldsnap on Magic Online this morning and hot damn, most of the cards are beasts. I am going to stop by the gaming store today to see if people actually show up to play Magic at their store. Maybe I'll buy a couple of theme decks and some boosters.
I am still so totally in love with my Nintendo DS Lite, but now Jennifer is in love with this.
I don't blame her though, it's pretty sweet. The black one is coming out on the same day, but eh, I will keep my white one.
Well that was a nice long blog, see what happens when I take a day off.
