186-E3 2007 Nintendo Press Conference Reactions

Nintendo could not do more boring press events if they tried. I almost fell asleep watching them explain how awesome they are, and how many DS' they have sold. Interesting to note is that the Wii might become the best selling system "very soon". I think I would like to hear that news.

Nintendo of course didn't have much third party Wii support to show off, but showed a lot of awesome first party stuff. Mario Kart and Wii Fit were the two big announcements. Wii Fit is literally a wireless scale that you stand on and do aerobics, and weigh yourself with. You can also use it as a controller for some games, shifting your body weight, shifts objects on the screen.

On the DS side they showed Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass which looks like a bitch and a half to control with the stylus, but I love me some Zelda and I am willing to give it a shot, because apparently it's super awesome. In Japan it got near perfect reviews. I'm not saying it looks bad cause it looks really cool, I just think the stylus controls look rough.

Nintendo also dated a bunch of titles, and as promised Metroid(August), Super Mario Galaxy(November) and Super Smash Bros. Brawl(December) are all due out this year.

Honestly that's about it. I have to say Nintendo keeps innovating, but the hardcore gamer in me is not impressed. The fact that even though they keep saying they are taking online seriously, but wont create a unified experience bugs the shit out of me. You did well Nintendo, but you didn't impress me the gamer in me.
