124-Snow Day

So we got about 3 inches of snow here in the Rockford, IL area. So at about four this morning I decided to call in to work and take a snow day. I shoveled, ate Rosati's, played WoW, and spruced up the Facebook. There is a reason I took this snow day though, and it is an amazing reason. See out here in Boone County they don't plow or salt the streets until about 12-24 hours after the snow. They also don't do a very good job. The last time I drove to work in this, I ended up spending three hours in a ditch. Why are these ditches even there? I suspect it's to collect cars that spin wildly out of control onto the side of the road. What other reason could there possibly be for these ditches? So the next time you drive your car safely towards your destination in even the mildest of snow showers think of me, and what I have to deal with, and ditches. Think about the ditches.
